Dreaming of Spring

I have to admit, I am ready for spring. I know, it's only February, and we haven't had the severe weather as to the east, but I'M READY! I'm ready for the snow to melt and my bulbs to bloom. I'm tired of wearing sweaters and am looking foward to wearing something a bit less. AND, I'm ready to ride again!

Any way, flowers are on my mind and I have discovered a great way to make (not grow) them. The flowers are made using the Stampin' Up Blossom Petals punch.

Elegant Easel

This is my first Easel Card. I found the directions at: http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2010/02/05/tutorial-on-scs-easel-card/
It's a fun and easy card to make.

Cards for Operation Write Home

Through a cardmaking group I belong to, I will be sending home-made cards to Operation Write Home. This is a program in which OWH sends blank, home-made cards to military personnel deployed overseas, who can then select cards to send home to their loved ones.

Hydrangeas

I've seen step fold cards before and decided it was time for me to figure out how to create them. I decided the easiest way was to start with two pieces of 8.5" x 5.5" paper. One I folded in half (the size of a notecard), the other I just did four more folds to create the two shorter peaks in front (I left a 1" tail in the back to attach the cards together. To attach them, I glued the back of the short card to the front of the long one. After that, it was just a matter of decorating it. Voila!

The hydrangeas are from the Stampin' Up "Because I Care" (hostess set) stamps, the inks and papers are Stampin' Up's Elegant Eggplant and Always Artichoke.

Box of Cards

I made the following six cards using Stampin' Up's paper and their Pocket Silhouettes stamps, to be placed in a box (the seventh image), to be given as part of a Christmas gift.
